Welcome to the New Year: My first readathon for 2018

Hi everyone! The New Year has crept upon us. That means more reading and the first official readathon I am participating in. This year, I have chosen to participate in Bout of Books 21.

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 8th and runs through Sunday, January 14th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 21 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

I am excited to be participating this year. My reading goal is 26 books this year. Last year, I read just twelve books. It was not my best reading year. This year, I am aiming a little lower. Initially last year my goal was 52 books. I wasn’t even close. So, I decided to tone it down a bit and make it a more relaxed goal to reach. My reach goal is of course 52 books. I am hoping by doing this readathon, I will be more focused and able to higher my chances of reaching my goal. For the next coming week, I plan to binge read when I can and read 4-5 books. I do have a plan of books I want to read. However, I will not be sharing that list as it might change; or, I will not have accomplished all that I wanted to. I will give one hint, I plan on finishing The Magicians series by Lev Grossman. I am partly into the second book, The Magician King. I loved the first one, so I am looking forward to diving deeper into this book and series overall. Stay tuned for reviews as the readathon continues, as well as updates of my progress throughout.

Let me know if you are participating, too! I would love to read your posts and join in on your journey. Take care and see you soon!
