Today marks the end of the week long readathon Bout of Books 22. It is a sad day. I love these weeks. It only comes twice a yesr, but I try to participate whenever I can. This time around I was only able to read one book, The Mermaid’s Sister by Carrie Ann Noble. It is a Young Adult fantasy novel that was a quick, enjoyable read that has been on my TBR shelf for a while. On a whim, I took the chance on it.
I will be writing a more in-depth review, however I will tell you now I really enjoyed it. Light and fluffy, it was an easy read. Something that I needed after a DNF book prior.
Yes, this is my second book I have read about mermaids in a short span of time. What can I say? I am fascinated by them. Both novels are extremely different and still satisfying in their own ways. I recommend them both.
I wanted to read two to three books, but got a little side tracked. Although I didn’t participate in the challenges this time around formally, I enjoyed myself.
I highly recommend this event. It’s fun and encourages you to read more. If you can do it, dedicate the time to it, and enjoy events like these don’t miss your chance in October. I look forward to the last one of the year.
